THE PRINCIPLE
The "Chartherm" process makes it possible to
recycle as completely as possible, in three stages, all soiled wood waste products which
do not belong to the "biomass" category. Its strong point is that it allows the
waste products consisting of wood to be recycled, irrespective of their level of
pollution, without the need for prior sorting.
Evaluation tests have shown that the discharge from the plant, even in the case
of arsenic, is substantially below the most stringent threshold levels authorised by the
regulations. The same tests have also shown that more than 99.925% of heavy metals and
other minerals are captured in all cases.
The chartherisation process makes it possible to extract heavy
metals, to purify the coal and to possibly facilitate the separation of the heavy metals
from each other. The coal can thus be reused directly. The heavy metals in turn are also
directly reusable once they have been separated.
The process consists of three stages : grinding, "chartherisation" and
separation. Special types of equipment have been developed to carry out each of the three
stages.
